My name is Ítalo Brunetto De Rocco. It's quite a mouthful, I know, so you can call me (by your name... no) Ítalo. Say it like eat a loaf, but without the f at the end.
I go by the pronouns he / him / his.
Recently I've been taking occo as my professional alias. This word, in Portuguese, means hollow space or empty, which sounds adequate since emptiness is a central component in creativity - imo. After all, there's nothing like a blank page to start something new, right? At the same time, it's a good self-reminder to accept the not-knowing, remain silly and clear my often overcrowded mind.
My happy place is surrounded by books, pets, films, music and yummy food. I love singing (to my husband's detriment), dancing (to the world's detriment), drawing, and I can hardly go a day without running. I'm fascinated by stories in general, be they about people, objects or countries - what I think derives from my love of learning new things. This curiosity made me as a generalist as they come, what allows me to engage with projects in different areas and to weave them into narratives that - hopefully - help address real issues in this wonderful and confusing world of ours. 
I'm currently based in the Netherlands and am always available for cooperation - or coffee and a chat.
